Frequently Asked Questions

Once registered, how soon can I schedule the exam?
Once the registration process is completed, you will receive credentials to access the Exam Portal for a period of three months. You can take the exam at any time during this three-month access period.
How long is the exam duration?
Participants have a total of 8 hours to complete the exam. Within this timeframe, they can pause, stop, or log off from the exam portal and resume where they left off. It’s important to note that the time spent away from the exam is counted. A timer is provided within the exam interface to keep track of the remaining time.
How long does the certification remain valid?
The ERMA certification is valid for a period of two years. To renew and maintain your certification, you will need to obtain a specific amount of PDUs (Professional Development Units) and pay a renewal and maintenance fee of USD 150 every two years. More information about renewals can be found on the Renewal tab.
What are the reading materials consist of?
The exam reading material series consists of five modules covering all aspects of the exam:
1. Strategic Foundations of ESG-Integrated Risk Management
2. Foundations of Sustainable ERM Framework
3. The Sustainable ERM Process through the Lens of Sustainability Responsiveness Profiles
4. Navigating Double Materiality through Sustainable ERM
5. Leadership, Governance, and Transformation: Enabling ESG-Integrated Risk Management
How long will I have to wait for the result?
For the ERMA Exam Assessment, the result will be sent to your registered email typically within 5-10 working days upon passing the exam.
What if I need more time to complete the exam beyond the initial 3-month window?
By default, our Exam Portal will only provide exam participants with a 3-month access. If you are unable to complete the exam within this provided period, you can fill the Exam Extension Request available in the Exam Portal, and we’ll provide additional time for you to complete the exam.
What if I fail the exam?
If you fail the exam, you have the option to retake it with a fee of USD 350. However, to enhance your chances of success, the exam portal offers access to an exam simulation. This simulation allows you to take up to 5 attempts, helping you familiarize yourself with the types of questions in the exam.
